Stolen Astrology experiment

topic posted Fri, May 16, 2008 - 5:24 PM by
Yeah, I swiped it from another Tribe, and a few Scorpio Moons have already contributed.

The idea in the other Tribe was to determine any correlation between Myers - Biggs profiles and Sun sign.
Don't really think there will be any, because personality is heavily influenced by Moon position.

However, there may be a commonality among those with the same Moon position - like we good folk.
So, please take the little test (a condensed version of the real thing), and we'll see if there is a common trait among Scorpio Moons.

As there are members of this Tribe who do not have a Moon in Scorpio, please state your Moon sign as well as the four letter result of the test. Feel free to add any comments or observations.

Could be weird or revelatory.

Or, could be meaningless, because everybody lied on the test.

    Moon -Scorpio 12th House
    Test - INTJ

The following came from here: www.typelogic.com/
Follow the links around the square thingy.

"To outsiders, INTJs may appear to project an aura of "definiteness", of self-confidence. This self-confidence, sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance by the less decisive, is actually of a very specific rather than a general nature; its source lies in the specialized knowledge systems that most INTJs start building at an early age. When it comes to their own areas of expertise -- and INTJs can have several -- they will be able to tell you almost immediately whether or not they can help you, and if so, how. INTJs know what they know, and perhaps still more importantly, they know what they don't know.

INTJs are perfectionists, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon anything that takes their interest. What prevents them from becoming chronically bogged down in this pursuit of perfection is the pragmatism so characteristic of the type: INTJs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion "Does it work?" to everything from their own research efforts to the prevailing social norms. This in turn produces an unusual independence of mind, freeing the INTJ from the constraints of authority, convention, or sentiment for its own sake."

Butt and Heiss's analysis baffled me, Kiersey a bit better, but the one on www.personalitypage.com was best. I could see my sun, moon and ascendant peeking through the analysis. Lots of food for thought on their take of my particular type.

Saw yours a bit, too, Edward. Not surprised that you are the Scientist type.

Thanks for leading me through this path. I've been here before, but you know how it is the second time around - you see more of the things you might have missed the first time.

          Cheers,

            Test result: INFP

It is really me although I don't like to admit it. lol

"INFP children often exhibit this in a 'Calvin and Hobbes' fashion, switching from reality to fantasy and back again. With few exceptions, it is the NF child who readily develops imaginary playmates (as with Anne of Green Gables's "bookcase girlfriend"--her own reflection) and whose stuffed animals come to life like the Velveteen Rabbit and the Skin Horse"

"INFPs have the ability to see good in almost anyone or anything. Even for the most unlovable the INFP is wont to have pity. "

            Rest you, my enemy,

            Lacking your salt!

ENFP - Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving

              Very, very accurate.

ENFPs have a great deal of zany charm... They are outgoing, fun, and genuinely like people... ENFPs often have strong, if unconvential, convictions on various issues related to their Cosmic View... They also tend to be procrastinators, both about meeting hard deadlines and about performing any small, uninteresting tasks that they've been assigned... ENFPs hate bureaucracy, both in principle and in practice; they will always make a point of launching one of their crusades against some aspect of it.

****ENFPs have what some call a "silly switch." They can be intellectual, serious, all business for a while, but whenever they get the chance, they flip that switch and become CAPTAIN WILDCHILD, the scourge of the swimming pool, ticklers par excellence. Som etimes they may even appear intoxicated when the "switch" is flipped.

              OMG, right on the money

Jen - what you posted of that description was also remarkably accurate for me! Mostly DEAD ON.

I, too, scored ENFP. Gemini Asc./Taurus Sun/Scorpio Moon

I love people (thoroughly fascinated and enamored with the lot of them, even in their most dull, dark, disgusting, pathetic, terrifying moments). Huge procrastinator. Awful at completing dull, daily tasks (though I'm great with dull tasks that others expect of me immediately, as I am a huge people-pleaser... really get off on it and on feeling useful). Definitely switch rapidly between deadly-serious and goofy-as-hell, too (the "might even appear intoxicated" comment is terribly true).

The description on the site also mentioned ENFP's being big on PDAs, which... true. Shamelessly. And being good at brainstorming and less good at followthrough (ditching working through old ideas for distractingly thrilling new ones)... also very accurate.

Some things that did NOT ring true for me were "disconcertingly spontaneous" (I get stuck in many a rut... Taurus), "short attention span in love" (many-year-long crushes are common, though I do enjoy short-lived affairs, as well), and all the stuff about neglecting friends to try to save the world or push a stance on various issues. Not much of a crusader - I have too hard a time feeling entirely sure of any of my opinions to be one. And I feel weird about trying to convert people to my beliefs... I enjoy listening to and discussing a variety of perspectives, even if I don't necessarily agree with them.

I used to always score INFP or INFJ on various tests, and have - within the past year or so - consistently been getting ENFP. For whatever that's worth!

Gotta be a dick and compulsively chatter some more by posting an add-on to my last comment. Upon reading further...

"Friends are what life is about to ENFPs, moreso even than the other NFs. They hold up their end of the relationship, sometimes being victimized by less caring individuals. ENFPs are energized by being around people. Some have real difficulty being alone , especially on a regular basis." "...silent pull of ENFPs to the wishes of parents, authority figures and friends."

DEAD ON, at least about friends being central to my life, people being energizing, and the wishes of parents/authority figures/friends being very influential. I try not to think of myself as a 'victim' in relation to interaction with others (negative way to think of myself... especially with a lot of 12th House/Neptune stuff in my chart making me prone to feeling sorry for myself and trying to be a martyr, etc.), though I've let myself be taken advantage of and I feel a strong sense of responsibility in any sort of relationship (perhaps more than I feel a sense of responsibility in any other area of life... Saturn conjunct Descendant). I do NEED some alone-time in order to think, but I tend to feel absolutely miserable when left with a lot of it.

                  Also:

"The physical world, both geos and kosmos, is the ENFP's primary source of information. Rather than sensing things as they are, dominant intuition is sensitive to things as they might be. These extraverted intuitives are most adept with patterns and connections. Their natural inclination is toward relationships, especially among people or living things."

I definitely have an obsession with patterns/connections between people and with thinking about future possibilities in relationships.

                  This stuff's fasinating. Good thread!!

Aries Sun, scorpio moon, Libra rising

    Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging

"I don't care to sit by the window on an airplane. If I can't control it, why look?"
ENTJs have a natural tendency to marshall and direct. This may be expressed with the charm and finesse of a world leader or with the insensitivity of a cult leader. The ENTJ requires little encouragement to make a plan. One ENTJ put it this way... "I make these little plans that really don't have any importance to anyone else, and then feel compelled to carry them out." While "compelled" may not describe ENTJs as a group, nevertheless the bent to plan creatively and to make those plans reality is a common theme for NJ types.
ENTJs are often "larger than life" in describing their projects or proposals. This ability may be expressed as salesmanship, story-telling facility or stand-up comedy. In combination with the natural propensity for filibuster, our hero can make it very difficult for the customer to decline.
TRADEMARK: -- "I'm really sorry you have to die." (I realize this is an overstatement. However, most Fs and other gentle souls usually chuckle knowingly at this description.)
ENTJs are decisive. They see what needs to be done, and frequently assign roles to their fellows. Few other types can equal their ability to remain resolute in conflict, sending the valiant (and often leading the charge) into the mouth of hell. When challenged, the ENTJ may by reflex become argumentative. Alternatively (s)he may unleash an icy gaze that serves notice: the ENTJ is not one to be trifled with.
    Functional Analysis
    Extraverted Thinking
"Unequivocating" expresses the resoluteness of the ENTJ's dominant function. Clarity of convictions endows these Thinkers with a knack for debate, or wanting knack, a penchant for argument. The light and heat generated by Thinking at the helm can be impressive; perhaps even overwhelming. Experience teaches many ENTJs that restraint may often be the better part of valor, lest one find oneself victorious but alone.
    Introverted iNtuition
The auxiliary function explores the blueprints of archetypal patterns and equips Thinking with a fresh, dynamic sense of how things work. Improvising on the fly is something many ENTJs do very well. As Thinking's subordinate, insights are of value only insofar as they further the Right, True Cause celebre. [n.b.: ENTJs are capable of living on a higher plane, if you will, and learning to value individuals even above their principles. The above dynamic suggests less individuation.]
    Extraverted Sensing
Sensing reaches out to embrace that which physically touches it. ENTJs have an awareness of the real; of that which exists. By stilling the engines of Thinking and iNtuition, this type may experience the Here and Now, and know things not dreamt of nor even postulated in iNtuition's philosophy. Sensing's minor role, however, puts it at risk for distortion or extreme weakness beneath the hustle and bustle of the giants N and T.
    Introverted Feeling
Feeling is romantic, as the ethereal as the inner world from whence it doth emerge. When it be awake, feeling evokes great passion that knows not nuance of proportion nor context. Perhaps these lesser functions inspire glorious recreational quests in worlds that never were, or may only ever be in fantasy. When overdone or taken too seriously, Fi turned outward often becomes maudlin or melodramatic. Feeling in this type appears most authentic when implied or expressed covertly in a firm handshake, accepting demeanor, or act of sacrifice thinly covered by excuses of lack of any personal interest in the relinquished item.

There seems to be many extraverted scorpio moons. Maybe this test reflects more of our ascendent, moon second, and then sun?

I have pisces sun/cancer moon/scorpio rising. I think my ascendant makes me lean on the introverted side, when sun and moon detail further my character.

Simone, how does the test result fit you?

        Sun, May 18, 2008 - 8:58 PM
        Thank you for asking MIKI,

I think it was pretty acurate although I am skeptical of the test a bit. I'm not outgoing in the scence that I can confidentely go up to people and make my presence known. I am more confident in my thoughts. Confident about myself over all than I am in comparison to others. I think I am a well rounded intellectual who doesn't have good social skills (per say).

socrpio rising introverted? I would think that you would appear to be extroverted becuase a scorpio rising would make an intense impression on people. What were your results for the test?
        • Re: Stolen Astrology experiment

          Sun, May 18, 2008 - 11:23 PM
Thanks for the clarification, now I understand your extrovertedness is in your thoughts. I feel your description also fits my aries brother, who is confident in his knowledge and intuition.

My result is INFP. I have quoted part of its description above. The fact that a few people I have admired are also on that list makes me feel a bit better, or I would think INFP are too unrealistic, always imagining things. lol

scorpio rising somehow makes me want to spend time to sharpen my skill or analyze things alone. That is why I am introverted. It makes me want to stay away from the crowd for a long time, comtemplating and practicing, and when I show up in a crowd, I would bring everything I have harbored to blossom, presenting the best of me.

But maybe the cancer moon also makes me introverted. I sometimes spent a lot of time brooding emotionally, which I think is a waste of energy. If I did this test when I was in high schoo or primary school, maybe the result might have been different cuz I was more pisces and aqua at that time.

Simone, actually when i really think about it. scorpio rising does also make me appear extroverted. When I am in a crowd, I appear very extremely extroverted and sociable, but I actually enjoy more comtemplating alone in my space.

              Mon, May 19, 2008 - 1:44 AM
I cant agree with what you are saing here, that scorpio rising is extrovert by nature.I never read anything like that about this ascendant. They can have strong presence but in a quiet way, thae are observers, have strong will but are not pushy…..

But according to many astrologer, what is very important ,what modify the rising sing is a position of its sign ruler. They say that ascendant rules is a chart ruler.Mars is one of scorpio ruler.

So in MIKI case, since her Mars is in gemini, so gemini is very pronaunced in her chart. And nature of gemini, mars in gemini is very expresive , talkative…..

Scorpio Rising and Mars in Gemini

Your Mars is in the clever, dexterous, skillful sign of Gemini, indicating that the use of your hands, your quick reflexes, and/or your facility with language plays an important role in your life and fate. On the shadowy side of this energy, you can be very crafty, scheming, shrewd and self-serving. Used positively, the gift and power of words can be used as a healing force.

              Mars in Gemini

In the sign ruled by Mercury, planet of the mind, the Mars drive can be directed towards mental activity.
It can make for a sharp, analytical, critical mind. There can be a love of debating or playing with words.
The person can be ingenious and resourceful, due to the quick nature of Mercury mind.
Because the Mars is to do with direction, and Mercury goes to and fro between things, there can be constant movement, especially in terms of mental activity. The Mars drive can be directed to more than one thing at a time, indicating a variety of jobs or interests held simultaneously. Or the native can change from one occupation to another, or alternate between 2 types of jobs.
Mars in Gemini is spontaneous, as the feeling of Mercury is to move, and move fast. This can be a quick decision-making ability, also an impulsiveness and nervousness. (Mercury rules the nervous system.)
It is a good position for reporters, journalists, critics, etc.

I was thinking that too. It must be your cancer moon or even your pisces sun that is making you feel introverted. But I heard that people with grand trines in their chart naturally stand out anyways (despite the fact that yours is in water signs). Scorpios like to retreat but we have a funny way of attracting attention as well. I've also knowticed that Jupiter acts as a second ascendant (sort of). What I mean by that is people tend to show case their Jupiter qualities as they would their sun signs. For example, a strong Jupiter in Leo would make one want to stand out in the crowd.

Im finding it very accurate just reading it in more detail

      it says

INFJs ( Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging)

,,,,, are not easily led. These are the people that you can rarely fool any of the time. Though affable and sympathetic to most, INFJs are selective about their friends. Such a friendship is a symbiotic bond that transcends mere words.

Their amazing ability to deduce the inner workings of the mind, will and emotions of others gives INFJs their reputation as prophets and seers. ( i related to that too, sounds very Scorpio rising, always analysing and perceiving)

Well i have moon, mercury mars uranus conjunction all in scorpio, and my sun in libra is in close conjunction to pluto.

You are aqua by moon and i have uranus ,ruler of aqua aspecting my scopio planets.Moon uranus conjunction is crazy aspect to have.
And you rising is scorpio so, i guess our pluto and uranus influence are making us this way :)

Here is someting else about INFJ

According to Myers-Briggs,[4] INFJs are conscientious and value-driven. They seek meaning in relationships, ideas, and events, with an eye toward better understanding themselves and others. Using their intuitive skills, they develop a clear vision, which they then execute decisively to better the lives of others. Like their INTJ counterparts, INFJs regard problems as opportunities to design and implement creative solutions.
            Keirsey characteristics

According to Keirsey,[5] INFJ Counselors are quiet, private individuals who prefer to exercise their influence behind the scenes. Intensely interested in the well-being of others, Counselors prefer one-on-one relationships to large groups. Sensitive and complex, they are adept at understanding complicated issues and driven to resolve differences in a cooperative and creative manner.

Accounting for 1–3% of the population,[6] Counselors have a vivid inner life that they may be reluctant to share with those around them. Perceptive of the emotions of others, Counselors are themselves easily hurt, though they may not reveal this except to their closest companions.

INFJs are affable people. They are generally well-liked by their peers and are thought of as close friends and confidants by most other types. Nevertheless, it is difficult for INFJs to let their guard down, which in turn makes it difficult for them to establish close relationships with strangers and new people.

[edit] Characteristics described in other sources
Below is a list of basic characteristics:[7]

            sensitive
            quiet leaders
great depth of personality - intricately and deeply woven, mysterious, and highly complex, sometimes puzzling even to themselves
            introverted
            abstract in communicating
live in a world of hidden meanings and possibilities - part of an unusually rich inner life
artistic (having a natural affinity for art), creative, and easily inspired
            very independent
orderly view toward the world but within themselves arranged in a complex way only they could understand

Check out the THIRD type of Scorpio Moon, we developed in the "There are two types of personality for a Scorpio moon person" Thread.

              Seems to match rather well.

Isn't it sad that extremely few writers of Astrological books, and web sites would ever consider "conscientious and value-driven" to be traits of anyone with a Scorpio Moon. Heaven forbid you would see the phrase "Intensely interested in the well-being of others".

Thank god a scorpio moon came forward and said we are not all power hungary, back stabbing, vindictive bitches all the time. I do care about the well being of others (if I think they are descent human beings who deserve it). And though I have had my fair share of fantasies about killing some people I would say that over all I am a caring person.

                Thank you Edward well said.

Yes, they never mention things like that in scorpio moon description, probably because of their own narrow-mindness.
I guess it has never occured to them that scorpio moon person, uses his/hers knowledge emotional strenght , power to heal other people as well as himself/herself.

The three types of which I have always heard were, Scorpion, Serpent, and Eagle; with further connection to the Phoenix legend.
Scorpio always possesses the power of life, death, and regeneration. Don't see how a Dove fits in.
Where did you read of the dove?
