Scorpio Music!!

topic posted Tue, March 4, 2008 - 9:25 PM by  offlineJen
I got this idea from the post on Scorpio moon movies. Anyone have any songs that their scorpion darker/ sensitive side can identify with? Any music that you deem "scorpionic"?

I have a few of my own:

"Revenge" by Thrive

"The love thieves" by Depeche Mode (Scorpio love)

"Special cases" and "Angel" and ...well basically anything by Massive Attack

"Change in the house of flies" by the Deftones (<----pluto moon conjunction anyone?lol)

"Rocket Man" by Elton John

"Lose control" by Evanescence

"All my life" by Foo Fighters

"Hammering in my head", "The world is not enough" by GARBAGE

Just a few eh? lol

The Enigma albums are, I believe, are very suggestive of the Scorpio Moon. Also Jocelyn Pook, who did some of the music for “Eyes Wide Shut”. Sorry, don't remember the name of the number where Hoffman enters the house.

Then there is the little known E.S. Posthumus. The cut is “Nara” , the theme for the TV show “Cold Case”. Try www.esposthumus.com/, and listen. Their new album isn’t as strong. . .

ya see iv never particularly liked rock/indie/metal. just never really did it for me. as a singer myself, i dont think most singers from those genres can sing tbh. i much prefer black singers. anything with a heart wrenching melody, love synth music 2.

Almost anything by She Wants Revenge, but especially "Tear You Apart".

          Depeche Mode comes to mind.

          Beyonce: "Ring The Alarm"

For chilling and relaxing I like Cafe Del Mar Chillhouse Mix 5 (CD 1). Specially like Delerium's songs (in order): Silence, Incantation, Angelicus. Also Enigma's Age of loneliness was also beautifully crafted.

Tori Amos is great too there is a song relating to scorpio "sweet the sting" her best is "spark"
PJ harvey only one beautiful song is "Perfect day Elise"
              Ville Valo "Summer Wine"

Yeah, PJ Harvey has always really resonated with me in a Scorpio way. And mopey little Fiona Apple used to, as well. Both of them have some passionate, longing, obsessive, self-destructive intensity about them that intrigues me. As well as ol' Amy Winehouse, though I'm not thoroughly crazy about her. Yet all of them are quite Virgo influenced (PJ - Moon, Fiona and Amy - Sun) - as well as being twigs - which intrigues me.

And, Ana, DEFINITELY agreed about Johnny Cash. Even the quality of his voice, which is totally haunting. His cover of "Hurt" was cited on a previous thread, and I still think that's an exceptionally good Scorpio Moon choice. It really punches me in the gut every time I listen to it. Worth linking to the video again, even though (or because?) I can't get through it without getting teary. <a href="" title="www.youtube.com/watch">www.youtube.com/watch

I'm going to repeat myself and mention, once more, the Gwen McCrae song "90% of Me Is You," which also hits me somewhere deep inside. <a href="" title="www.youtube.com/watch">www.youtube.com/watch

And - on more of a purely aural/emotional level (versus lyrical) - a lot of other 60's/70's soul songs totally resonate with me. I've been obsessed with the "Eccentric Soul" comps, lately, which I HIGHLY recommend, if anyone has interest in some goooood soul music. "You Can't Blame Me," by Johnson, Hawkins, Tatum, and Durr breaks my heart every time. Oh, god, the heartache! The falsetto! It's so perfect.

And Scorpio Sun K.D. Lang's "Constant Craving" is a pretty nice Scorpio choice, as well. With a lovely music video, I might add. <a href="" title="www.youtube.com/watch">www.youtube.com/watch

And, as another guilty pleasure, I must admit that I'm really into the obvious attempt at darkness and effed up sentiments (like "i didn't wanna f--- you, but you're pretty when you cry... i didn't wanna f--- you, but you're pretty when you're mine... if you knew how much i love you, you would run away... when i treat you bad, it always makes you want to stay") in a lot of VAST songs. (Totally silly video, but still... <a href=")" title="www.youtube.com/watch">www.youtube.com/watch It's all about aching with longing, unhealthy relationships, power dynamics and self-harm for me, isn't it? Dagnabbit.

I loved the Gwen McCrae song "90% of Me Is You, sond, what a woman ,what a voice, Its very strong.

I love the "What a difference a day makes" by Dinah Washington. Its old but very sensual. Its on youtube too

Scorpio Moon music? Both Ian Curtis from Joy Division and Morrissey from The Smiths have moon in scorpio and I have always felt sympathy from those two even before I was interested in astrology. Dark twisted lyrics. To a lesser extent Michael Hutchence from INXS and Bono from U2. But I hate them.

And I think Nelly, 50 Cent, Snoop Dog and Eminem have moon in scorpio aswell, though I may be mistaken,

Type o negative sons...Some lyrics go somethin like this:
"She¨s in love with self, she likes the dak,
on her milk white neck a devils mark"
        or "
        I've got a problem
        A problem with hate
I can't go on dragging this weight
A cold steel hand that won't let go
        Acid-filled thoughts out of control

I built myself a nice little cage
With bars of anger and a lock of rage
I can't help asking Who's got the key?
When I know damned well it's me

No I ain't hinting for sympathy
I'm used to dealing with apathy
The scars on my wrists may seem like a crime
Just wish me better luck next time

So what if I died a thousand deaths
You think I'm insane but I have no regrets
One more time won't matter no question
        Suicide is self expression.
nice little cage ,with bars of anger and locot of rage,

    Angry Johnny...Poe

"Johnny, Angry Johnny, this is Jezebel in Hell
I wanna kill you, I wanna blow you...away

I can do it you gently
I can do it with an animal's grace
I can do it with precision
I can do it with gormet taste

    Chorus:
    But either way
    Either (way), either way
    I wanna kill you
    I wanna blow you...
    Away

I can do it to your mind
I can do it to your face
I can do it with integrity
I can do it with disgrace

    Chorus

Johnny, Angry Johnny, this is Jezebel in Hell
Johnny, Angry Johnny, this is Jezebel in Hell

I can do it in a church
I can do it any time or place
I can do it like an angel
    To quiet down your rage

    Chorus

I can do it in the water
I can do on dry land
I can do it with instruments
I can do it with my own bare hands

    But either way
Either way, you know where it stands
    I wanna kill you
    I wanna blow you...
    Away

Johnny, Angry Johnny, this is Jezebel in Hell
    Johnny, oh my Johnny

    Where did your pleasure go
When the pain came through you
    Where did your happiness go
This force is running you around now
    Getting you down now
Where is your pleasure now Johnny
Where has your pleasure gone now

    Johnny, Angry Johnny..."

He makes terribly unlistenable music and even worse movies (The Proposition) and stole one of my song titles 'News From Nowhere', which I stole from the William Morris book 'News From Nowhere'. He wrote a song on his new album called 'More News From Nowhere'

          MORE news from nowhere

he did that just to spite me. Would he like it if I wrote a song called FURTHER Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! ????

all that and that he's just annoying.

I have always enjoyed dark, deep intense music. Some that comes to mind

    Tool

    Depeche Mode

    Portishead

Afro Celt Sound System (this is more of the 9th house Taurus, always loving stuff from other cultures)

    Enya's always beautiful

Sade, I have had to stop listening to her completely because it reminded me a damned Aquarius that completely hit me with a wrecking ball and decided to bail quickly (bastard)

Wax Poetic (their NuBlu sessions with Norah Jones were fucking fantastic)

And Bjork's "Unison" always gives me chills

    "Creep"

    When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
    You're just like an angel
    Your skin makes me cry
    You float like a feather
    In a beautiful world
    I wish I was special
    You're so fucking special
    But I 'm a creep
    I 'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
    I don't belong here

I don't care if it hurts
    I want to have control
    I want a perfect body
    I want a perfect soul
    I want you to notice
    When I'm not around
    You're so fucking special
    I wish I was special

    But I'm a creep
    I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
    I don't belong here

    She's running out again
    She's running out
    She run, run, run run
    Run

    Whatever makes you happy
    Whatever you want
    You're so fucking special
    I wish I was special
    But I'm a creep
    I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
    I don't belong here
    I don't belong here.
